Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered problems to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, Europe and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and applying restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the city endured intense attacks overnight. A young boy was killed and three other people were hurt.

The assaults succeed nights of air raids in the area, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were bracing for further attacks.
